Originally from Edmonton, Josh Beamish grew up in Kelowna, BC where he began dancing under the direction of his mother. Upon moving to Vancouver in 2004, he founded MOVE: the company, a charitable contemporary dance organization. The company’s work has been performed throughout Canada and the US, most notably at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC and at the Joyce SoHo in New York. He recently created a solo work for Sylvain Brochu, completed a term as Artist-in-Residence at Odyssey Dance Theatre in Singapore and choreographed the 2011 International Children’s Winter Games Opening Ceremonies event. His next work for MOVE: the company, Atonement, will premiere at the Bangkok International Festival for Dance and Music in Oct 2011. www.movethecompany.com
