Rafales

Catherine Gaudet is currently doing her master’s degree in dance at l’UQAM, where she has also completed her B.A in dance. She has worked as a performer for choreographers like Jean-Sébastien Lourdais, Marie Béland, Anne thériault and Marie-Josée Lareau. In 2001 and 2007, she traveled to Indonesia to learn Balinese Theater. Since then, she has developped a strong interest in the body’s dramatic expression and the use of the body as a witness of existential experience. She presented Bibi et Juju in 2004, Grosse fatigue in 2005, l’Arnaque in 2006, Alex Lalune in 2007 and Sourire forcé in 2008-2009. In 2008 she received the second prize at the International Choreography Competition of the Choreographic centre Archaux in Denmark. The piece L’invasion du vide à Archauz will be presented at Tangente in autumn 2009.

Originally from Charlevoix, Gabrielle Desgagnés graduated from LADMMI in May 2008. She then trained in dance and Pilates with Noam Gagnon in Vancouver and took part in the first workshop offered by Tedd Robinson, the Exclusive Summer Intensive. In Belgium and in Spain, she also participated in workshops with the company Ultima Vez and Deltebre Danza. She was also part of OSEZ! 2009 cast in Quebec city.

After completing a visual art programm, Thierry Huard entered at LADMMI, l’école de danse contemporaine, from which he graduated in 2008. Since his professional debut, Thierry has been part of many projects and workshops before finally turning to creation. During his first year as a choreographer, he has receive the third prize of the Ciné-danse contest at the Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois and will also be part of Dance Buissonnière at Espace Tangente in October 2009.

Originally from Halifax, Victoria Diamond started her dance training at the age of seven. Soon after her dance debut, she developped a passion for theater and performed in many production from the Neptune Theater of Halifax and has appeared in several movies and television productions. She performed in the Nutcracker for five years while dancing with the new company Halifax Dance. She then moved to Montreal where she gratuated from LADMMI. During her traning at LADMMI, she had the chance to work with talented choreographers such as Sylvain Émard, Mélanie Demers, Estelle Clareton, Yuval Pick, Manon Oligny and Danièle Desnoyers.

Amélie Rajotte graduated from the Conservatoire National de la région de Grenoble, where she also completed the Étude Chorégraphie en danse contemporaine diploma. She was trained in both interpretation and multidisciplinary creation. In 2003, she moved to Paris to develop her improvisation skills and to broaden her release technique and her approach to floor work. While completing her Diplôme d’état de professeur de danse at the Cefedem of Rouen, she collaborated in many choreographic and multidisciplinary projects. She then approached creation with two short solos presented at Grenoble and Paris. Since 2006, Amélie has been teaching contemporary dance in Montreal while working on several projects as a choreographer.

Marie-Adeline Choquet was born in Montpellier, France. She trained with Marylin Ferro in both contemporary dance and modern jazz. After spending one year in Belgium with the company Passerelle 02 she received her professional license of vocal and choir practices from the music faculty of Tours. During that time she continued her dance training at the conservatory, from which she graduated with honors. She has also trained at the Centre chorégraphique National under the direction of Bernando Montet. She then returned to Montpellier to complete her dance teacher training diploma and joined the company El Yamni. She began her master’s degree in music in Montpellier and finished it at l’Université de Montréal, where she composed her first choreographic piece with her music and dance troupe Barsom. She collaborates to various dance and music creations as well as improvisation shows in Montreal and continues to train as a performer. She has been teaching dance since 2002 at the M.J.C in Teyran and in Montreal since 2009.

Aliette Mahé is a multidisciplinary artist, her work is part of a relational aesthetic working on experimental videos that she broadcasts on social networks. She graduated from L’École des Beaux Arts de Renne in France, where she completed a diploma in fine art. She then completed her master’s degree in Visual Arts at l’UQAM. Her work was presented at the Parisian Laundry. Since 2006, Aliette is a consultant in communications at Line55 agency in Montréal.

Nelly-Eve Rajotte has been a member of Perte de Signal since 2003. She completed a master’s degree in Visual arts at l’UQAM. Her work is oriented towards numerical video, installations and sound creation. She explores the connection between sound and video images. Her videographic works have been presented at several festivals across Canada, in the United States, in South America and in Europe. She has had exhibits at the Parisian Laundry, at the Fonderie Darling, at the Galerie Occurrence and at the Galerie Clark.
