After studies in literature and history, Annabel Guérédrat trained in Butoh and Release Technique before founding her Martinique-based company Artincidence, and creating 5 dance videos and 12 choreographic works. Since 2006, she has led dance-based actions in prisons, schools, hospitals, and other social and humanitarian contexts. Annabel is also active in the African and South American choreographers’ network Caraïbes en création via the Culturesfrance program. www.artincidence.org

Natalia Tencer, Annabel Gueredrat’s outside eye, is a contemporary dancer & teacher from Argentina trained in improvisation, composition, theatre, and clown. She participated in creation projects with Meg Stuart, Iztok Kovac, and Boris Charmatz. Her last solo, Sobrenatural, has been presented in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, France, Uruguay, and Cuba (March 2010, Biennale Caraïbes en création / Culturesfrance). She has received support for creation by the Prodanza Institute for a residency in August 2010 in Spain at L’animal à la Esquena.

At the École de danse de Québec, Ariane Dubé-Lavigne created multiple works, collaborating with visual artist Lenka Novenka for the installation Fragments of light: I’ve been looking for you at La Chambre blanche. A recent graduate (2010), Ariane will perform in Mario Veillette’s new creation Père et mère, presented this spring at La Rotonde in Quebec city.

Floor Rider & Tonik is a young company directed by Emily Honegger and Geneviève Gagné. With extensive training in contemporary dance and break dancing, they draw on their backgrounds to explore the fusion of styles in an explosive physicality. Troy Emery Twigg is Blackfoot from the Kainai Nation in Southern Alberta. His work has been presented nationally and internationally. He is currently the instructor for Indigenous Contemporary Dance at the Centre for Indigenous Theatre in Toronto. Troy has collaborated with many artists in visuals arts, theatre, music and dance. His next collaborative venture will see him back on stage in a solo, choreographed and directed by Muriel Miguel of New York City’s Spiderwoman Theatre.

Justin Many Fingers is a singer, actor and dancer currently finishing his term with the Centre for Indigenous Theatre in Toronto. Justin has trained in dance with various artists from a wide spectrum. He has attended intensive programs provided by the Banff Centre and with Toronto Dance Theatre. Highlights, of this past year include, the opportunity to learn under Jock Soto from the New York City Ballet and New Zealand’s Black Grace.

Robert Kingsbury, composer for Troy Emery Twigg, graduated from York University’s Fine Arts department majoring in music. He was awarded prizes in piano performance and composition. Robert has screened multi-disciplinary films, sound-edited & composed for full-length dance works and ran a choreographic exchange. His Choreography has been performed by TDT, Cadence Ballet & at Guelph’s Contemporary Dance Festival, Dance Matters, International Dance Day, LabSpace, Series 8:08, York’s Site Specific Promenade & Ffida. Robert has performed for such choreographers as David Earle, Bill James, D.A. Hoskins, Stephen O’Connell, Menakka Thakkar and with York’s African Dance Ensemble. He ecstatically trains & performs with Dancetheatre David Earle in Guelph.

Since 1998, Suzanne Miller & Allan Paivio Productions has worked toward a hybrid, poly-cultural repertoire of new dance and music unique to Quebec and Canada. The distinctive character of the company derives from an ongoing series of cultural and artistic exchanges that feed their creative process. The company has toured throughout Canada, the United States, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, Mexico, Venezuela and the Middle East. Collaborators since 1985, Miller and Paivio envelop their audience in a “total theatre”, harmonizing their mesmerizing choreographies with electrifying musical landscapes.
