Open to all movement artists (actors, dancers, circus artistes, mimes).
This is a workshop premised on the Axis Syllabus- a training practice consolidated by Frey Faust addressing the mechanics of the human anatomy in dynamic motion. Through floor, standing, turning and airborne exercises we will explore the effect and function of the mobile, multi-dimensional, undulating spine and its divine interplay with the pelvis and extremities.
Kelly Keenan is a certified Axis Syllabus Instructor teaching in the Montreal community. The Axis Syllabus is a method of movement created by Frey Faust based on movement principles, scientific and medical research. Locally Kelly has taught at studio 303, Regroupement Quebecois de la Danse, Ladmmi, Concordia and le Centre Chat Bleu. Internationally at the Tanz Quartier and Tanzpool (Vienna), the Nomadic College (Italy/Hungary/Czech), Studio Hybrid (Brussels), Compagnie Lanonima (Barcelona), Yildiz and Mimar Sinan Universities (Istanbul) among others. Never tiring her passion to dance Kelly has extensive anatomical knowledge and brings it into the dance class in a useful and applicable manner to aid in augmenting dynamic, to execute increasingly challenging feats and enjoy the blissful rides of our bodies in harmony.
