Studio 303 is launching the third edition of Métamorphose. The idea is to create a strong dialogue and exchange between two artistic worlds. How will the visual artist’s imagination affect the mover’s aesthetic? From this collaboration, so many possibilities can emerge – but will we ultimately witness a metamorphosis of both object and action?

Cabaret Tollé is an evening of entertaining artful unrest featuring the crème de la crème of Montreal’s cabaret scene. Launched in 2014, this fun-raising event was created in response to Canadian Heritage’s suspicious withdrawal of financial support to Studio 303. Since then, the event has established itself as a platform for inventive performance that questions the status quo. On December 19th, we are challenging an eclectic crew of seasoned performers to create works that speak directly to current affairs, following a pivotal federal election.

Re-interpreting, remixing or covering are rhetorical conventions in some performing art forms such as music or theatre where the same raw material can be radically re-shaped by a new director, musician or conductor. What happens if we apply the same principle to dance? Studio 303′s upcoming presentation will feature two original pieces, followed by remixed versions.
