Lapine-Moi by Nathalie Claude
Welcome to my fairytale-dream-nightmare. Come deep into my mind to excavate and confront the worst enemy of all : MYSELF.
First World Problems by Peaches Lepage
Peaches Lepage has made 2 prior appearances in Montréal on their intergalactic meta-world tour, which has been generously funded by thedutymyth. Previous invocations at the Death Church Benefit for Will Munro and the Laura Boo MacDonald-curated Cabaret Faux Pas at Café Cléopâtre have been met with consternation, fear, guilt, and adoration.
The Greatest (excerpt) by Sasha Kleinplatz
The Greatest, named for boxing legend Mohammed Ali. The physical language of machismo and male coolness embodied in pop-cultural images of boxers, hip hop artists and mafioso, is re-set on 6 female dancers. The dancers use an aggressive muscularity and tempered cool to claim their turf and assert their status in the group. The performers are an all-girl fight club loitering, threatening, wrestlestly stalking the stage, and battling for supremacy.
PAS PEUR by 2boys.tv
From the 2boys.tv collection of cabaret lip-synch performances PAS PEUR weaves together elements of Cocteau, Donizetti and Greek tragedy to deliver a poetic expression of sorrow in a time defined by the “war on terror”.
Shudder (excerpt) by Susanna Hood
An excerpt of Shudder, Susanna Hood’s most recent hour-long work, radically extending the visual vocabulary of Francis Bacon’s canvasses to channel their visceral and violent energy that evokes no less than some of the great Greek tragedies. A work of missed connections that evokes sensuality, brutality and loneliness. Theirs is a grotesquely beautiful and disarmingly intimate encounter.
The present moment… Freedom by Dario Milard
Dario Milard is known for his unusual and intriguing movements that bridges different dance styles. What distinguishes his art is his continual search to push the boundaries of preconceived movements and his original way to surprise or disturb the viewer. Mainly a self-taught dancer for the past 7 years, Dario decided to learn contemporary dance at Cegep Montmorency in 2007. His greatest achievement to date is his participation as a dancer in the top 20 of So You Think You Can Dance Canada.
Ze End (Le magicien malgré vous et malgré lui) by Peter James
Supervised by his assistant, the magician shows you a piece of nothing. It’s hyper-absurd, hyper-grotesque, hyper-expressionist. It’s not minimalism, it’s micro-minimalism. Inspired by German painters/cartoonists Otto Dix & George Grosz.
Taming the Edge by Bob Loblaw
One man, one mic, one mission; with video by Skidmore
Songs + electro by Clara Furey
Studio 303 gives carte blanche to Clara Furey who will perfrom her own compositions.
Contortions by Andréane Leclerc
A contortion piece, on what you want to see… Or on what I would like to show you!
Interlude #4 by Marcelle Hudon
An original performance with masks, props, puppets, and music.
