Jacques Poulin-Denis is a composer, a dancer and a creator for the stage. He studied dance, music and theatre and now creates projects that blur the borders between these disciplines. His 2009 works include Practices created at the LIG Arts Foundation in Seoul, Korea, the solo Cible de Dieu already presented in Canada, France and Italy and Domestik, an experimental music concerto for 18 large appliances presented at the Bain St-Michel in collaboration with the sound art organisation, Ekumen. He has worked with Ginette Laurin, Denis Marleau and is a close collaborator of Mélanie Demers, Martin Messier and South African choreographer Boyzie Cekwana. Jacques Poulin-Denis’ artistic approach is characterized by the quest for what is essentially of the true human essence, finding powerful strength in vulnerability. www.grandponey.com
