2012-2013 SEASON PROGRAM
Studio 303 offers an appetizing 2012-2013
season: conversations between Darwin and God,
animalistic dance,
internal aftershocks,
gender explorations, acrobatics, machines... In addition, the Edgy Women Festival celebrates
its 20th anniversary
with an unusual theme in unusual venues. Our intensive workshops for professional artists are back with even more diversity and world-renowned teachers. Next week, our season is launched with 2 exceptional workshops by artists from les Escales Improbables de Montréal: cie Méta Carpe offers a Masterclass on Sept 10th in choreography, visual art, new media and large-scale puppetry, and cie Ex Nihilo offers a 3-day intensive Sept 11-13 exploring in situ dance-making, in and outside of the studio. FAREWELL OLD STAFF
This summer, for the first time ever, Studio 303 has had to replace its whole permanent staff (apart from Miriam Ginestier). Our TD Gabrielle followed her sweetheart to Gaspésie where she has already found work, whereas Julie – replacing Mélissa on her maternity leave – is migrating to the film industry. Our beloved veterans, Mélissa (8 years) and Roxanne (6 years) are pursuing studies to re-orient their careers to new (and certainly more lucrative) challenges as a freelance translator and web designer (specializing in the arts of course). It is sad to see the old team go, but invigorating to have the opportunity to build a new one from scratch, and in doing so, rethink our roles.
