Axis Syllabus workshop with Ayelet Yekutiel

Waves possess and conserve energy. Travel long distances. Fall and rise.

Our fluid-filled body has marvellous abilities to conduct various types of waves through its curvy-wavy form. In this workshop we will apply tools and observations listed in the Axis Syllabus to investigate and play with our ability to harness, propagate, undulate and wisely channel kinetic energy through wavy movement.

Through communal studying, imagination, touch, movement improvisation and short sequences – we will look at the different kinds of waves and the moments in which they manifest and can support efficiency and ease in our movement. We will experiment with the various undulations and wave patterns appearing in walking, use spiralling waves to softly ramp into and out of the floor, to float, to flow, to swirl and more. Come surf the dance.
