{"id":10353,"date":"2021-04-08T10:31:01","date_gmt":"2021-04-08T15:31:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.studio303.ca\/?p=10353"},"modified":"2022-09-29T16:00:38","modified_gmt":"2022-09-29T21:00:38","slug":"online-keyon-gaskin-us-self-memorialization-and-other-impermanence-engagement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.studio303.ca\/en\/online-keyon-gaskin-us-self-memorialization-and-other-impermanence-engagement\/","title":{"rendered":"ONLINE: keyon gaskin (US) \u2014 self-memorialization and other impermanence engagement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">** FULL ** <\/span>May 17 to 21,&nbsp; 2021<!--more-->&nbsp;\u2014 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Mon.-Fri.)<br>$45 with the support of *Emploi-Qu\u00e9bec (or $160, non-eligible rate)<\/strong><br><strong>Open to artists of all disciplines \/ In English<br>Capacity: 13 people, priority for full week attendance<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY:<\/strong><\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/app.simplyk.io\/en\/ticketing\/73d5843e-3103-47aa-82d1-60a7260e3521\">https:\/\/app.simplyk.io\/en\/ticketing\/73d5843e-3103-47aa-82d1-60a7260e3521<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This workshop is offered in collaboration with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.larteredanse.ca\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">L&#8217;Art\u00e8re<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CONTENT \/\/<\/strong> the plan is to openly explore death in its complexity from the heavy, sensitive, sacred, earnest, shameful, violent aspects to the celebratory, release, ecstatic, unknowable, ubiquitous, peaceful, inevitable and things in between and beyond. this is a space to discuss, research, share and consider international death practices &#8211; our own mortality personally, culturally and as a species &#8211; the ways death influences us &#8211; how we think about, deal with, prepare for dying\u2026 we will engage this material through talking, movement, writing, sound, laughing, eating and making together. although this is a space where we will attempt to respect and care for one another and discover or deal with deep issues relating to death;  this is NOT intended to be a therapeutic experience. i am not a mental health professional but am offering this experience because i am interested in the subject matter and learning and exploring this with others and feel i have the emotional, energetic and spiritual capacity to hold space for this and believe that a more engaged, wholistic and thoughtful relationship to our impermanent experience can be fulfilling and generative in our lives \/ art. i ask that before you sign up for this workshop you do some reflecting to make sure that you are able and willing to share space with others where we are unabashedly exploring and sharing practices, concepts and personal stories related death. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>keyon gaskin prefers not to contextualize with their credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n<hr>\n<p><strong>HOW TO DETERMINE WHICH RATE TO PAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All workshops are for professional performing artists. Some require advanced dance training.
