We will share a brief history of CNF. Since 2009, she has made performances, installations and online archives with a team of collaborators under the moniker, a canary torsi. a canary torsi\u2019s practice has involved developing systems, scores, and software programs so that elements of performance (choreography, text, music, environment) unfold in real time in response to the presence\/participation of the audience, building the work as a communal act. Castro has received two Bessie Awards for Outstanding Production and a NYFA Choreography Fellowship as well as various commissions, residencies and project grant awards. She is one of the co-authors of \u201cCreating New Futures\u2019 Phase 1: Working Guidelines for Ethics &amp; Equity in Presenting Dance &amp; Performance,\u201d and \u201cPhase 2: Notes on Equitable Funding from Arts Workers.\u201d Both are collectively-written documents drafted as calls-to-action to address deep-rooted inequities in the performance field.<br><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Emily Johnson<\/strong> is an artist who makes body-based work. She is of the Yup&#8217;ik Nation and is a land and water protector and an activist for justice, sovereignty and well-being.
