CONTENT
<\/strong>This Theatre of Movement research and creation workshop is based on Jacques Lecoq\u2019s approach. We will work on physical acting by studying objects from our everyday environment (colors, materials, elements). In addition to research exercises and directed acting sessions, the participants will be invited to create a short form which will be presented at the end of the week (a “self-course” in Lecoq\u2019s language).<\/p>\n

The workshop is relevant for all artists working with the body (dancer, actor-actress, acrobat, performer, choreographer\u2026) It enables them to enrich their body language and develop original performance tools. It also develops creative vision and directing skills.<\/p>\n


<\/strong>ACCESSIBILITY
<\/strong>The workshop starts by a physical warm-up before starting the explorations. The research, exploration and directed acting sessions exercises will be done individually and in group settings. Participants will have a moment at the end of every day to work on their group creation, a \u201cself-course\u201d (short forms of physical play, between 1 and 5 minutes per group) that will be presented at the end of the week. Depending on the availabilities of the participants and the studio, the \u201cself-courses\u201d could be presented on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n


BIOGRAPHY
<\/strong>I started training in urban dance (House and Waacking) in Montreal in 2008, in Circus Art in 2015 in Besan\u00e7on and in Movement Theater in 2016 at the Lassaad International Theater School in Brussels. Since then, I have been working as a dancer and performer and, occasionally, as a teacher and stage director.<\/p>\n

My approach is transdisciplinary. I am interested in the movement of the body in the performing arts, whatever they may be. I am used to teaching dance to actors and actresses, and theater to dancers! My approach is quite faithful to Lecoq\u2019s pedagogy: a creation-based method using what students suggest to further the group’s exploration. My workshop is a safe and inclusive space, open to any artists that wish to enrich their physical vocabulary.<\/p>\n\n\n
