DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open to emerging choreographers: recent graduates, self-taught and students.<\/strong> Taking the Leap is a space for exchange and connection that helps participants navigate the professional dance world. During this event, we will hear from choreographers and independent artists who will share their early career concerns and challenges. Small discussion groups will then be formed around specific themes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On request<\/strong>, a childcare service will be offered free of charge in the adjacent office \u2013 Please contact us at info@studio303.ca<\/a> before Monday, March 10th, 2025 at 9 am.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Claudia Chan Tak <\/strong>is a multidisciplinary artist, trained in visual arts (Concordia, B.A. with distinction 2009) and contemporary dance (UQAM, B.A. 2012 & M.A. 2017). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is recognized for her work as a choreographer, performer, actor, costume designer and videographer, as well as for her community and curatorial work, which was awarded the Envol Dance Prize in 2022. Her creations have been seen on many venues in Quebec and abroad. In recognition of the quality of her artistic work, she was awarded the Prix William Douglas in 2015 and the Prix M\u00e9c\u00e8nes investis pour les arts in 2018. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Camille Lariv\u00e9e<\/strong> is a street art artist, independent curator and cultural worker based in Montreal. She holds a bachelor’s degree in art history and a certificate in feminist studies from the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al (UQAM). Iel has over 12 years of experience in the Canadian visual and multidisciplinary arts milieu, having worked for various national arts organizations such as the Independent Media Art Alliance and the Indigenous Curatorial Collective. As an author, he co-edited the book D’horizons et d’estuaires : entre m\u00e9moires et cr\u00e9ations autochtones and his texts have appeared in several magazines, including Canadian Art and Espace Art Actuel. Camille is the General and Artistic Director of Montr\u00e9al, arts interculturels (MAI).

Rozenn Lecomte<\/strong> is a Quebec-based choreographer and performer exploring rebellious bodies and anti-conformism. She premiered The gathering of the Gentle (2023) and The politics of regret (2024) after multiple residencies in Montreal and Europe. Her work is rooted in underground events and institutional spaces, blending performance, pedagogy, and artistic direction.

Maude Choquet-Blanchette, Juliette Pottier Plaziat, and Myriam (Milow) Foisy<\/strong> from Collectif NU.E.S will be present for the event!

NU.E.S, a collective of uninhibited artists<\/strong>, is a non-profit organization based in Hochelaga seeking to create performative, interdisciplinary and contemporary shows on topics such as intimacy, eroticism and sexually marginalized diversity. The collective holds authenticity, vulnerability and performativity at the heart of its artistic process. It unites artists who share a passion for these topics and who care to explore queer, intersectional feminist and sex-positive perspectives.
