Let\u2019s connect in a new way, and continue supporting each other from afar.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><i>WORKSHOP IN ENGLISH, some facilitation can be provided in French, but documents and conversation will be mostly in English.<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><i>Required: computer, ability to work with either excel or google sheets, uFile account<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can do it! This workshop will provide an overview of information, answer your questions, and give you tools to file your own taxes using the inexpensive online tax tool Ufile. Under the experienced guidance of Leni Petoussis and Lauren Semeschuk, participants will spend 5 hours together, over two days, learning the basics of tax filing and troubleshooting their own applications.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Potential topics include:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; What must you include as revenue and when must it be included?<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; What is deductible as a business expense?<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; What rules pertain specifically to artists?<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As well as bookkeeping tips that will ensure you are well-prepared for tax time each year.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please register in advance for this workshop! When you register, you will be sent an excel form to help you organize your expenses, as well as some basic information about registering for Ufile. <strong>We expect that participants will arrive on the first day having filled out as much information as possible on their UFile forms, and with their expenses organized.<\/strong> The more you prepare for the Lab, the more you will get out of it!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please note that although it is possible that you will have a finished tax return at the end of this workshop, each person\u2019s situation is unique, and we can\u2019t guarantee that you will finish your filing.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Leni Petoussis <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a Chartered Accountant who has been practising the profession since 2006. She has experience within a large accounting firm, and she also has a small personal practice offering tax filings for personal and corporate clients for the past 5 years. While specialized in corporate taxes, she also has a working knowledge of personal taxes.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Lauren Semeschuk <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a dancer, mover and collaborator based in Montreal. She also has a secret side life: taxes! Lauren has over 9 years of experience preparing tax returns in Canada, with a specialty in returns for small business owners and artists alike.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here is how to participate in this workshop:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will receive an email with the link and password to connect to the video conference <\/span><b>following the reception of points<\/b><b> 1, <\/b><b>2 and 3.&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.
