Organisme artistique Tondoa/Nicole Speare
Territorios takes you to the heart of Colombian traditions, where every step and every rhythm tells a story. This class is for beginners and dance enthusiasts who want to discover or deepen their knowledge of traditional Afro-Colombian dance techniques. You will learn the expressive use of skirts, the characteristic movements of different styles, and be introduced to the company’s unique body language, which promotes listening and group cohesion. The emphasis is on the pleasure of movement, exploring your own body language, and creativity. The class offers a lively approach to dance through movement analysis and a rich and dynamic cultural immersion. Finally, six classes will be accompanied by the Raíz Viva group, who will provide live music to get you moving to the rhythm of drums and traditional songs.
The class includes a variety of physical elements, such as cardio exercises, light jumps, dynamic movements, and prolonged periods of standing. Physical contact between participants may occur in certain group exercises, always in a respectful and safe environment. The music used is mainly rhythmic, with sometimes strong percussion, especially during sessions with live music.
However, the class is designed to be inclusive: several exercises can be adapted to suit each person’s physical abilities and energy level. We encourage participants to communicate their needs or limitations so that we can offer alternatives or adjustments as needed.
