Calls for submissions

Studio 303 supports experimental practices in contemporary dance and interdisciplinary performance. We give priority to emerging or mid-career artists based in Tiohtià:ke – Mooniyang – Montreal. If you are an artist based out of town, please specify in your application why you want to work at Studio 303 in particular.

Some of our programming is done by invitation, such as SPARK Series, exchange residencies, or other special projects. The following is our open calls for submissions. If the format of our calls (PDF, Google form) presents an accessibility challenge for you, please contact info@studio303.ca


MARATHON  — APRIL 3, 2027

An event featuring 20 dance/performance pieces, each lasting 5 minutes. Open to projects in the research, exploration, or creation phases, and to artists at any stage of their careers.

The call for submissions will be open throughout January 2027.

PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS — 2027-28 SEASON

Each year, we welcome a few new artist-teachers (mostly local or, in exceptional cases, visiting artists) to lead workshops. The workshops take place from September through June, each lasting one week, in the mornings.

The call for applications will be open throughout November 2026.

RESIDENCIES — 2027-28 SEASON

Summer Residency: Up to 80 hours of access to the studio and its equipment for artists working on collaborative or multidisciplinary projects. Projects are selected by a committee comprising former artists-in-residence.

Winter Residency: This intensive residency is offered to two local artists who have previously worked with Studio 303. It provides exclusive and unlimited access to the studio, office, and technical equipment. You must be technically self-sufficient.

The call for applications will be open throughout November 2026.

EVENING CLASSES — 2026–27 SEASON

Studio 303 rents its space to instructors who wish to teach weekly classes. Evening classes are held Monday through Thursday, in the evenings, during three sessions: fall, winter, and spring. The instructor is responsible for renting the space.

Applications will open in October 2026 for the winter 2027 session and in January 2027 for the spring 2027 session.


Practical Details

  • Studio 303 is a studio, not a theatre.
  • Submissions must be received no later than 5pm the day of the deadline, or the following Monday if the deadline falls on a weekend.
  • We will try to give you an answer within 2 months following the deadline.
