Studio 303 offers various activities to the general public : workshops, events and evening classes.
Professionnal workshops
Their inclusivity and accessibility are core priorities for us. We describe them in all transparency, so that you can determine their actual accessibility for you.
Choosing a workshop
What to expect?
On the workshops page, filters allow you to quickly identify workshops with the accessibility measures you require.
We can provide you with further information at info@studio303.ca: for example, to let you know about workshops with smaller groups.
Accessibility measures filters: wearing masks and LSQ/ASL interpretation
This filter indicate workshops that could welcome on request wearing masks or LSQ/ASL interpretation. The request is made in the registration form. We will do our best to accommodate your request; however, it is sometimes not possible in the end.
Accessible (+) workshops
Occasionnally, we programm accessible (+) workshops, which are conceive for:
- responding to an accessibility need without you having to ask for it
- provide a specific accessibility measure, such as sign language interpretation
- a smaller group
- Accessible (+) might also indicate a workshop by and for artists of the ability diversity
Upon registration
Financial accessibility bursaries
For artists who self-identify as Indigenous, Black, and/or people of color, living with a disability, Deaf or hard-of-hearing artists, and trans artists.
Your registration fee might by cover by the bursary, through this form.
Inform us about your accessibility needs
The registration form includes a question about this. We will then follow up with you and the artist-teachers to accommodate you as much as possible.
During the workshop
Come as you are! There are several ways to engage and participate during the workshop. We ensure that we provide the necessary support:
Workshop assistants
We have a team of workshop assistants who rotate. One workshop assistant per workshop supports both logistics and the community, creating links between the teaching artists, participants, and the Studio 303 team.
They welcome participants upon arrival, participate during the workshop, and open/close the space. Participants are invited to:
- ask them for any help or support
- let them know a need to withdraw or leave the workshop. They can suggest a quiet place.
- let them know if it’s a difficult day, a need to participate in a low-key manner
- follow up on any late arrivals or absences during the week
Talk to the team
Come to the office or email us at info@studio303.ca. There is also a paper survey for your feedback on the workshop.
We are here to support you and listen to you: for example, if you are experiencing a difficult situation, an access issue, disappointment, or if you have suggestions for improvement. We are constantly improving and learning!
Events
Studio 303 hosts its own productions as well as external events, both in-studio and occasionally off-site. Events range from informal studio showings to full theatre-style setups with seating and lighting.
We provide information on conditions (sound, light, intensity, etc.), ensure clear paths for mobility devices, and can arrange accommodations (break rooms, late entry, early exit). Support persons and certified service animals are welcome. Free child-minding is available during select events upon request.
For external events (not listed on our website), please contact organizers directly about accessibility.
Evening Classes
Studio 303 offers beginner and intermediate dance and movement classes, typically 1–1.5 hours long over 10–14 weeks. Taught by independent artists who rent the space, classes are open to all. Registration and accessibility inquiries should be made directly with each teacher.
