With Hanna Sybille Müller (Choreographer, Dancer and Teacher) / Bilingual teacher
CONTENT // Movement will be the starting point. We’ll practice a variety of easy to learn and apply scores. Each score will give space to participant’s interests & desires to develop personal versions. By noticing what recurs, what is moving, what kind of decisions are made and what is of interest we will learn what kind of dance-maker we are. The 14-week course focuses on developing a movement vocabulary and a choreographic toolbox through a process-led research in company with others.
Scores can accept all styles and provide a structure for performers to follow or to sabotage. Scores can support practice and ways of working collectively and individually. Working with scores developed with the New York post-modern dance movement of the 1960’s and 70’s.
This workshop is open to anyone who is interested in choreographic practices and wants to develop a self-directed independent practice by trying things, staying fluid, being in conversation with themselves and others.
BIO // Hanna Sybille Müller is a choreographer, dancer and dramaturge living in Montréal. Her performance scores focus on language, movement and its interrelations. Sybille is interested in the language’s and the body’s strange, magic and ordinary potencies. Currently she is developing in collaboration with Erin Robinsong the score for Polymorphic Microbe Bodies, a dance work that explores the microbial worlds of the body, translating scientific information into experiential knowledge. Recent works include revolutions (2018), transposition (2016) and a social choreography called Soup-text Series (2010-ongoing). She studied dance at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie (RDA) and received a diploma in media studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) in 2012.
