Intelligent movement has a mission to make accessible to all quality training in urban/street dance. This week of intensive workshops led by Axelle Munezero aims to cover multiple facet of certain dance styles. We believe that dance is learned not only by practicing it, but also by learning it history, exploring it individually, and exchanging with others. For this reason, each day of the workshop is divided into 3 equally important parts: history, technique and freestyle.

Program

10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. – History
Presentation of the history of the dance explored this day.

Why?
Learning the social, political and cultural context in which dance was created allows us to better understand it. It also help to understand how everyone can be part of this dance.

10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Technique
Technique, combos and drills, we get into action

Why?
Reinforce your foundations in urban dance by learning the different techniques that are specific to it and applying them physically to open more creative possibilities.

12 p.m. to 1 p.m. – Freestyle
Applying all the concepts explored during the day in a guided freestyle session by the instructors.

Why?
Being agile in freestyle is an important element for the urban/street dancer. Freestyle is widely used for dancers to participate in battles, create choreographies, make solos or simply dance.
