MENTORS | Mari Deckers & Ka Lee Chan
Mari Deckers is Studio 303’s co-director. She has worked for AlterHéros, L’R des centres de femmes du Québec, Réseau Koumbit, Glass Collective and Sidetracks (which she co-founded). She is also a visual artist, pursuing her silkscreening practice as an artist and instructor. Trained in active listening, non-violent communication and anti-oppression, Mari is involved in various community initiatives and collective creative projects.
Ka Lee Chan, CPA is one of the founding partners of Excellence Juricomptable with over ten years of experience in financial analysis, forensic accounting, bookkeeping, budgeting, etc. They are also a baking business owner, and mixed martial arts coach and handy person with a lifetime of street-smart money investment skills that they love to share with whoever asks
DESCRIPTION
Open to professional artists in dance, circus arts, theatre, and interdisciplinary practices. During this session, the mentors can help you:
– Understand how to invest your money
– How to organize it from one fiscal year to the next to optimize your taxes
– How to prepare for tax season
– How to manage your money as an independent artist or with your company.
