The Studio 303 SPAs – Once a month, our studio becomes a coworking space. With tables set up around the studio, participants are invited to work on their own things in their own time.
Each SPA centers around a specific topic, with relevant mentors present to answer questions and share their expertise.

The schedule and set up is designed to recreate a day at the spa: a quiet space with foot baths and massage devices, yoga mats and cushions for stretching and rest, a community lunch midday (gluten free & vegan) and free 10 minute professional chair massage appointments throughout!

The coworking space is open to anyone who wants to work on their grant applications too.
(Entrance fee includes a meal and a massage!)

Web Spa is a day to think about your online presence, with friends IRL! This session is about websites and online archiving of your artistic practice (not so much about social media). This spa’s mentor, Christopher Willes, will be present to chat with you about your needs. He’ll be there to share suggestions about platforms (from open source options like hotglue.me and WordPress to Squarespace and others), intentions and design. Chat with Christopher about your specific needs and he’ll be happy to help you discover new ideas and approaches. Get feedback on your existing website, or find the courage and excitement to start building something new!

MENTOR // Christopher Willes

Christopher Willes is an artist, musician/composer, dramaturge, and researcher based in Canada. His interdisciplinary work focuses on the subject and practice of listening, and encompasses performances, exhibitions, concerts, recordings, publications, community arts and educational projects. He is an associate artist and co-artistic producer with Public Recordings (Toronto), with whom he developed the workshop What’s Collective? (previously shared at Studio 303) and the publication Resonance Gathering (2023, published by Art Metropole). He also has created several works with Adam Kinner, including MANUAL which has toured internationally. He also regularly works as a sound designer in dance and theatre. He received an MFA from Bard College (USA) and is currently enrolled in Conflict Studies through he University of Waterloo.

Christopher’s artistic work has often engaged with questions and practices around archives and collective memory. This interest dovetails with work he has done as a web-designer and coder over the last decade, collaborating with numerous arts organizations and artists to create online projects through the studio Endless Commons. For example, the Queer Body Politic, a curatorial web project with Studio 303; Indoor jogging, an online interactive piece with Germaine Liu; and thenamesofdancers, a conceptual art project by La Calq.
