OBJECTIVE
Listening to ourselves and others, asserting our limits, respecting our needs, taking responsibility for our desires… consent is more than a theoretical concept, it’s practice! What are the beliefs, systems and experiences that stand in the way of our agency?
This workshop aims to create a space of empowerment for queer people and women through a somatic approach to consent: accessing our choices, expressing them and acting on them with greater confidence. We’ll explore how a practice of embodied consent can empower us in the intimate, professional and artistic dimensions of our lives.
CONTENT
The structure of our workshops alternates between time spent connecting to the body (anchoring, breathing, movement), the use of tools linked to verbal and non-verbal consent, and time for integration and group sharing. We use play and nervous system’s regulation as factors that support entry into relationships with oneself and others.
Some exercises include touch, but this is never an obligation.
Participants can modify or simply observe an exercise, according to their needs at that moment.
The context of exploration we create is non-sexual:
– No practice is intended to lead to sexual arousal.
– We ask you to keep your clothes on.
This workshop is inspired by the Wheel of Consent as developed by Dr. Betty Martin. We trained with The School of Consent, but are not certified School of Consent facilitators. For more information: www.schoolofconsent.org

BIOGRAPHIE
Marie C and Caro, co-founders of À Corps Consentants (2021), have been facilitating hands-on workshops on consent and developing more conscious forms of intimacy since 2019. Their approach is somatic, feminist-Queer and trauma-sensitive.
They have collaborated with various festivals and collectives that advocate a positive vision of the relationship with the body and sexuality: Touch and Play, La Riposte Féministe, Le Corps a ses Raisons, Brûlances, les collectifs NU.E.S and Post-Plottes. Through their practices, they explore the links between sensual, artistic and political emancipation.
As dancers in Montreal’s contact improvisation community, they co-lead classes and jams in chosen mixity.
Caro has been developing her practice as a social worker in mental health and sex education for several years. Marie C, artist and massage therapist, is currently studying somatic sex education. In 2024, they are taking an in-depth training course on the Wheel of Consent with The School of Consent.
