CONTENT // Throughout the workshop D. P. invites us to explore our physical and ethereal qualities by accessing different states of reality to integrate, little by little, the symbolical sides of our human spectrum that link our individuality and collectiveness, with the intention to feel a transpersonal experience through the body’s expression.
The deeper we venture into this process of opening and sharing our intimacy, the more powerful our energetic movement offering to others becomes. We can trust more in our true and essential expression, emerging from the activation of the extraordinary, energetic, emotional centers of the body, through a high level of consciousness and concern for community, beyond aesthetics or convenience.
Our ultimate intention is to create a Collective Ritual together by the end of the workshop, giving us a useful sense of transformation amidst global social and cultural challenges, to recreate a ritual sense, to venerate, to take care, to heal ourselves and to evolve, from our intuitive wisdom as sensitive humans looking to transcend our present time.
ACCESSIBILITY // The workshop’s main focus is in the internal process of exploration around perceptions, sensations, and feelings (individual-collective) all through our physical bodies. Some of the explorations happen just by the use of a simple deep, quiet motion, using the whole area of the studio.
In every session we start with deep body-warming to activate our physical and mental attention and sensitivity. There are exercises that imply a very particular training to warm/activate all the deep energetic centers and corners of the body, departing from our bones, joints and a deep sense of warming for the spine based on an extensive understanding of breathing.
We also explore, individually and collectively, accessing and improving all kinds of motions and expressions coming up from in-depth research that could imply different levels of physical interaction and energetic exchange.
The last communal integration will be to make a collective ritual structure where the collaboration of each participant will be required for the final energetic Ritual Offering.
BIO // Diego‘s practice and research departs from Cultural Mexican Roots, Shamanistic and Energetic Training, and incorporates modern dance, theater as well as the studies of the Ritual Traditions in Mexico. In the 80’s he reached a meaningful connection with his Japanese guides who allowed him to distill Butoh influences into his own approach: BODY RITUAL MOVEMENT. This proposal is a result of 40 years of experience in the main fields of the human body expression: RITUAL – ARTISTIC – CREATIVE HEALING.
D. P. believes it is possible to activate and explore, in a deep expressive way, the different physical and sensitive realities of the human wisdom nested inside our DNA like mysterious pieces of a creative puzzle, to redirect our collective consciousness with respect, and acknowledge every human micro-culture present in each individual body and our ancient traditions, to assume the process of a transcultural integration where humanity is involved.
Diego has taught and performed in many countries since 1995, with the intention to create a bridge between western and eastern cultures as well as between our past and present horizons of evolution.
