Art as Political Tool
In this open dialogue we look at the ways art can contribute to political discourse. What possibilities and limitations are part of approaching politics through the lens of art? How does political art deal with the institution/s? And is art ever outside of the political?
Join us for an intimate exchange around this topic. The format of this unmoderated performative discussion is modeled on Lois Weaver’s fluid Long Table public address system, where participants may:
- join the table to contribute to the conversation
- choose to sit in the outer ring as an observer
The SPARK series takes place during the FTA/OFFTA (end of May), taking advantage of the large number of presenters already in town to facilitate different moments of exchange where relational rather than transactional aspects are favored.
