Calls for submissions

Studio 303 supports experimental practices in contemporary dance and interdisciplinary performance. We give priority to emerging or mid-career artists based in Tiohtià:ke – Mooniyang – Montreal. If you are an artist based out of town, please specify in your application why you want to work at Studio 303 in particular.

PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS — 2025-26 SEASON

We program more than one year in advance, and our decisions are usually made in late fall every year. We are seeking eclectic teachers – local and visiting – to facilitate workshops for professional art-makers in Montreal. These generally take place in the mornings over one week and occasionally on weekends.

RESIDENCIES — 2026-27 SEASON

Summer Residency: Up to 80 hours of access to the studio/equipment for artists working on collaborative or cross-disciplinary projects. The projects are selected by a committee including former artists in residence.

Winter Residency: This intensive residency is offered to two local artists, who already have a relationship with Studio 303. The residency offers exclusive and unlimited access to the studio, office and technical equipment. You must be technically autonomous.

RESIDENCY in the shade — MARCH 2026

in the shade is a residency for 2 Afro-descendent artists in Martinique. This program engages research, reflection and sharing, and was created by curator Ronald Rose-Antoinette.

This opportunity provides affordable access to our technical infrastructure and collaborative support. It aims to reduce financial barriers for artists wishing to self-distribute, while sharing our resources and discovering new talent.

EVENING CLASSES — 2025-26 SEASON

Apply by: June 16th, 2025 (Full year or fall session), October 15th, 2025 (Winter session), and January 15th, 2026 (Spring session).
You can apply by filling out this form.

We schedule evening classes in July, and occasionally in October and January if there are any cancellations during the year. We offer 3 sessions per year, and classes are held Monday through Thursday evenings. Studio rental is the responsibility of the instructor.
